This Crafting glue is very simple, safe and inexpensive to make so please try it out, you will save so much money making this than buying the ones in the shops.
Ingredients:
3 Tbs white flour
4 tbs cold water
1 cup boiling water
1 tsp vinegar
2 tbs granulated sugar
1 tsp flavouring ( I chose Almond essence)
Preparation Method:
Add the cold water to the flour and mix well until all lumps are removed.
Now add the boiled water to a pan.
Slowly pour the flour mixture to the pan while mixing all the time.
Add the vinegar and stir .
Turn the heat up to medium and carry on stirring until the mixture thickens. Do not bring to boiling point.
As soon as the mixture thickens, remove the pan off the heat and stir in the sugar.
Let the Mixture cool slightly and pour it in a jar.
Add a label if you wish.
The glue is now ready to use or if using at a later date, store it in the fridge until ready use.
These glue will keep up to 6 months.
Notes : You don't have to add flavouring, I just used it so that you don't get a pungent vinegar smell each time you remove the lid.
The glue will also thicken as it cools.
Enjoy making this glue and rest assured that if your child decides to taste it, it won't be toxic to them as all natural ingredients have been used :)
If you want your Glue to be thicker just add a little more flour mixed with water to your glue :)

Home made hot chocolate mix gift Presentation
I made some Home made Hot Chocolate Mix today which I posted on my Food Blog :)
I thought it would be nice to give as a gift for any occasion so why not make it look pretty.
Nothing says you care more than a gift made from the heart :)
What you need:
Tub with a lid that has a lip
A pair of scissors
Sellotape/sticky tape
Brown parcel paper or paper of your choice.
2 patterned cup cake cases
String as needed
1 paper plate
What to do :
Firstly Measure and cut out the brown paper to fit snugly around the jar and stick down with tape.
Now either cut the base of a cupcake case or fold under and push it gently under the lip of the lid to cover.
Now draw a small circle on a paper plate ( I used a little Vaseline tin to draw around)
This is for the label.
Now cut the same size circle from the base of the other cupcake case and stick it it onto the card circle.
You can either put a Home Made Sticker onto it or leave it plain and write a message on it.
Make a small hole on the label big enough to thread string through it.
Cut as much thread as needed and thread one end through the hole of the label.
Wrap the string around as desired and adjust the label and tie a double knot or a bow at the end to secure it.
Your gift is now ready :)

Cake in a jar
Cakes in a jar are a great gift for anyone of all ages, male and female :)
My sister in law is a little bake shy so I sent her a home made food treat hamper recently and this was one of the treats I sent :)
Things you will need:
A medium sized jar with a tight fitting lid.(preferably wide mouthed)
2 cups of plain flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup of packed brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
chocolate chips as needed
I added peanut M&M's on top to fill up the jar but they are not to be used in the cake :)
Labels for instructions ( you can download these for free or make your own)
What to do:
Sieve the flour, baking soda and baking powder together in a bowl.
Now gently add it to the jar trying your best not to let it spread all over the top.
Pack the flour down firmly with your fist or with a muddler.
Now for the next layer add the the brown sugar and pack it down firmly.
Add in the white sugar and do the same.
Now add your chocolate chips as a layer.
If you still have a gap you can add peanut M&M'S or anything edible large enough to remove before adding the contents of the jar to a bowl.
For the instructions on the label:
Pre heat your oven to 180
Please pour all the contents of this jar apart from M&M's into a large mixing bowl and mix well.
In a separate bowl add half a cup of softened butter or margarine and whisk in 2 eggs (one at a time) until smooth and add 1 tsp of vanilla extract
Add the egg mix to the cake mix and mix well to make a smooth cake batter.
To make cupcakes:
Add spoon fulls of batter into cake cases and bake for 12- 15 minutes on the middles shelf of the oven.
To make a cake:
Lightly grease and flour a cake tin and pour the batter into the tin.
Rap the tin on a surface 3 times to get rid of any air bubbles.
Pop in the oven for 25- 30 minutes.
Oven temps vary so keep an eye on your cakes.
Check to see if the cakes are done by poking a tooth pick in the center of the cakes, if it comes out clean, it's ready, if not put it back in the oven for a few more minutes until the tooth pick comes out clean.
Enjoy :)

Pet Hampers
We all love our beloved fur babies as of course they get gifts on special occasions as us humans do :)
Last Christmas I decided to make little Hampers for our 2 cats and our dog :)
These are very easy to make and look pretty too so give it a go :)
Material used:
Empty cat/dog food boxes
wrapping paper
scissors
tinsel
Ruffles
sticky tape
paper
marker of choice
News paper for stuffing
How to make Hampers:
Remove the top (lid) of the box and extra bits on the sides.
Chose wrapping paper of your choice and wrap the outside of the box.
Now scrunch up some news paper or tissue paper and stuff it inside the box. This will help raise the items slightly so that they can be seen :)
Arrange treats in the hamper and stick with tape if necessary to keep them stable.
Make a little label with your pets name and stick it on the front.
Now stick a glittery ruffle on the hamper and add a little sparkle to your hamper by placing some tinsel in with the treats.
Your pets will feel very special :)
Have fun and enjoy :)
